Dress Your Maxi For Any Occasion
June 26, 2015 at 3:03 pm 0
I love being able to find something as comfortable as a simple Maxi dress and dressing it up for any occasion. That's why I have a closet full of them and they are usually my easy go-to. Now you can never go wrong with black, but recently I have been all about bright colors that pop for summer, just like this red dress. It is easy enough to pair with flats for running errands or a casual dinner, or throw on heels for a wedding or night out. Now I am a total believer that accessories can make any outfit come to life! For a casual look, think small stud earrings and a simple necklace. I chose these long, fringed, Marrin Costello earrings to dress up my look a bit more here. Now add a clutch or statement necklace and you are ready for a night out. I picked similar dresses for you all to shop below, all under $100.

Wash It or Toss It!
June 23, 2015 at 10:35 pm 1
Processed with VSCOcam with a5 preset One of our favorite activities during these gorgeous and hot summer months is going to the beach. It is easy, free and provides endless entertainment for Willow. We have a great spot right near our home that has a quiet beach, with a playground perfect for playdates. I always pack our beach bag full of all kinds of necessities like sunscreen, toys, clothes, more clothes, diapers, and sippy cups (and trust me there is much, much more). The problem I keep running into is that I leave things behind here and there, and don't notice until I make it home. You know when you find that perfect blankie, toy, or sippy cup that your child can't live without and then you lose it...shoot me, it's hell! I found a solution to at least one of the issues above, the Nuby Wash or Toss Straw Cups. I love them because they are durable enough to be used multiple times, stack easily to save space in your bag or cabinet, and are affordable enough that if you leave it behind you won't break the bank( and hopefully not have a major freak out from your kid). I brought mine to the beach with Willow, got a little sand in it but brought it home, washed it and it was ready for our next outing. I even put my own water in one too! You can find the Wash or Toss Straw Cups from Nuby at a number of retailers, including Amazon and Nuby also has  Wash or Toss Printed Cups that are available at Target stores. Each set includes 4 cups, 4 straws and 4 lids in various bright colors. They also have the same Wash or Toss Cups with spout lids if your little one is a little too young for a straw. Find more items from Nuby or follow them on social media here: www.facebook.com/nubyusa www.twitter.com/nubyusa www.instagram.com/nubyusa www.pinterest.com/nubyusa This item was c/o Nuby, but like all products I review on The Chic Mamas all opinions are my own and I only share products that I feel will be beneficial to all of The Chic Mamas out there and for your little ones. The KostaLA Launch Event!
June 5, 2015 at 3:33 pm 0
We recently attended the launch event of the KostLA company and had a blast! KostLA's mission is really amazing, they aim to provide a safe, fun space for children and adolescents to learn vital water skills and to gain a sense of belonging with caring, enthusiastic instructors and counselors. They believe that all children should have the opportunity to learn these important, potentially life-saving skills and to be safe and confident in the water.  Also, one of my favorite statement's from owner, Danny Kramer, is "KostaLA strives to provide this service to all children in Southern California, including underprivileged and at-risk youth through our outreach programs". We immediately bought swimming lessons for Willow and her friend Luca, and she is learning to swim at 16 months (Luca is 2). It is really fun, and interactive as the instructors are not only teaching your child how to swim, but they are also empowering parents with these skills and providing an amazing bonding experience for your family.  They offer a range of fun activities from swimming and surf lessons to beach camps. See more at KostaLA or email the company directly at info@kostla.org. Rachel Pally for Mama and Baby
June 2, 2015 at 4:06 am 0
You know when you find that one must have piece of clothing because you can live in it and it just feels amazing? Enter anything Rachel Pally. As everyone knows I am beyond in love with her soft modal jersey material, and she really knows how to design for every woman's body type. Her baby clothes get even better. I mean she makes matching caftan dresses so you can twin with your little (see the baby caftan on Willow, envision without drool), and that is just amazing. Her "Mesa Quill" print dress I am wearing is perfect for summer, and offers that chic bohemian vibe. Spice Up Your Everyday Denim
June 1, 2015 at 4:55 am 0
I am definitely guilty of living in jeans and a t-shirt every once in a while...okay a lot. Who doesn't love an easy outfit though? I like to add a little fun to plain denim by adding colors or patterns like the BLANK NYC denim I'm wearing above. It's easy and pulled together without taking hours going through your wardrobe. Happy Monday! 20150520_2015.05.20_ChicMamasBlog_WebSelects_UD9A34242   20150520_2015.05.20_ChicMamasBlog_WebSelects_UD9A34342 20150520_2015.05.20_ChicMamasBlog_WebSelects_UD9A34462   20150520_2015.05.20_ChicMamasBlog_WebSelects_UD9A34442 Necklace: Marrin Costello 20150520_2015.05.20_ChicMamasBlog_WebSelects_UD9A34282 Photo Credit: Kate Hauschka Photography
